Affordable dentures in Yuba City come down to one question: what will your coverage pay for, and what will the rest cost? At Yuba City Dental Arts the answer is better than most people expect. Medi-Cal / Denti-Cal covers full and partial dentures for eligible adults, PPO plans usually pay a share, and self-pay patients get a written price with a payment plan. This guide explains the types of dentures, what each route costs you, and how to make a denture last. Dr. Navjot Singh makes and fits dentures at 887 Plumas St #B, Yuba City, CA 95991.
Types of dentures and who each one suits
| Type | What it is | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Full (complete) denture | Replaces all upper or lower teeth; rests on the gums | No remaining teeth in that jaw |
| Partial denture | Replaces some teeth; clips onto the natural teeth left | Several missing teeth with healthy teeth remaining |
| Immediate denture | Made before the teeth come out, placed the same day | Anyone who does not want to be without teeth while healing |
| Snap-on (implant) denture | Clicks onto 2–4 implants; no adhesive, no movement | Lower dentures that will not stay put; long-term wearers |
Dentures on Medi-Cal / Denti-Cal
Full and partial dentures are a covered adult benefit under Medi-Cal Dental, with prior approval, generally once every five years per arch. Relines (re-fitting the inside of the denture as your gums change) and repairs are covered too. Extractions needed before the denture are covered. We submit the approval with your X-rays, and covered dentures have no bill to you unless you have a share of cost. Immediate dentures and premium tooth options may need to be discussed case by case. See what Denti-Cal covers for adults for the full list.
Dentures with PPO insurance
Most PPO plans treat dentures as major work and pay a portion after the deductible, usually once every five to seven years. We send a pre-treatment estimate and show you your share before starting. Coverage varies too much between plans to quote a percentage, so we check yours.
Dentures without insurance
Self-pay dentures are quoted in writing after one exam, because the price depends on full vs. partial, standard vs. premium teeth, and whether extractions are needed. What keeps it affordable: the denture is made and fitted in our own office in Yuba City, adjustment visits in the first weeks are included, and payment plans split the cost into monthly amounts. Our affordable dentistry page explains the options.
What is included in a denture
- Impressions or a digital scan of your mouth
- A try-in so you approve the look and bite before the denture is finished
- The finished denture from the lab
- Adjustment visits while sore spots settle
Making a denture last
A well-made denture lasts five to ten years, but your gums keep changing underneath it, which is why a denture that fit perfectly can loosen after two or three years. A reline fixes that and is far cheaper than a new set. Clean the denture daily with a soft brush, soak it overnight, and come in once a year so we can check the fit and your gums. Our dentures page has the care routine.
When a snap-on denture is worth it
A lower denture is the one people struggle with most: it floats on a small ridge of bone and moves when you chew. A snap-on denture on two to four implants stays put and slows the bone loss. Medi-Cal does not cover implants, and PPO coverage varies, so it is mostly self-pay, from $6,999 per arch through our implant department, Yuba City Implant Center, with financing. Often your existing denture can be converted, which lowers the cost. We tell you honestly whether it is worth it in your case.
